Installation Procedure

    Engine Mount Bracket (1) - Install

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

    Engine Mount Bracket Bolt (1) - Install NEW and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Mount (1) - Install

  4. Lower the engine.

    Engine Mount Nut (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    6. CAUTION:

    Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

  6. Engine Mount Bolt (1) - Install NEW and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Turbocharger Exhaust Pipe Gasket (2) - Install NEW

  8. Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter (1) - Install

    Catalytic Converter Nut (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

    NOTE:

    A special anti-seize compound is used in the HO2S threads. The compound consists of liquid graphite and glass beads. The graphite tends to burn away, but the glass beads remain, making the sensor easier to remove. New, or service replacement sensors already have the compound applied to the threads. If the sensor is removed from an exhaust component and if for any reason the sensor is to be reinstalled, the threads must have anti-seize compound applied before reinstallation.     Install and tighten the heated oxygen sensor (1) using a suitable tool. Fastener Specifications

  11. Connect the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.

    Install and tighten the heated oxygen sensor (1) using a suitable tool. Fastener Specifications

  13. Connect the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.

    Catalytic Converter Brace (2) - Install

  15. Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Nut (1) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications

    Catalytic Converter Gasket (2) - Install NEW

  17. With the aid of an assistant, install the exhaust muffler (1).

    Exhaust Muffler Hanger Bracket Nut (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Electrical Connector (1) - Connect

    Underbody Rear Air Deflector- Right Side (5) - Install

  28. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Right Side (3) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  29. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt- Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  30. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Right Side (4) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  31. Rear Wheelhouse Liner Bolt- Right Side (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Underbody Rear Air Deflector- Left Side (5) - Install

  33. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Left Side (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  34. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side (3) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  35. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Left Side (4) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  36. Rear Wheelhouse Liner Bolt- Left Side (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Rear Tire Front Air Deflector- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]

  38. Rear Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Install the front cradle sheer plate (2) between the front bumper fascia center air deflector and the driveline and front suspension cradle and raise into position.

  40. Ensure that the left and right side wheelhouse liners (1) are positioned in place under the front cradle sheer plate (2).

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Front Crossmember Brace Bolt (3) - Install and tighten [8x] - Fastener Specifications

  43. Front Cradle Shear Plate Nut (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  44. Front Cradle Shear Plate Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
  45. Remove the jack.

    Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Install

  47. Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Front Compartment Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications

  50. Front Wheelhouse Liner Retainer- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]
  51. Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications
  52. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  53. Remove the engine support fixture. Engine Support Fixture

  63. Heater Inlet Hose (2) @ Heater Core - Install
  64. Heater Inlet Hose Retainer (1) - Engage

  70. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (3) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications
  71. Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose (2) - Install
  72. Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose Clamp (1) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Install the NEW positive crank ventilation foul air tube (2) and secure the 2 positive crankcase ventilation tube connectors (1).

    Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Source Tube (2) - Install

  75. Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Source Tube (2) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  76. Clamp (1) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Charge Air Bypass Valve Vacuum Tank Tube (2) - Install

  78. Charge Air Bypass Valve Vacuum Tank Tube (2) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  79. Clamp (1) - Engage [2x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Air Cleaner Assembly (2) - Install

  81. Air Cleaner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  82. Install all retainers and wiring harnesses to the air cleaner assembly as necessary.
  83. Connect the 2 mass airflow sensor electrical connectors.

  85. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (3) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications
  86. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (2) - Install
  87. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (1) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Install [2x]

  89. Front Suspension Strut Upper Mounting Nut- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
  90. Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications
  91. Install all wiring harness retainers to the front end sheet metal cross braces.

    Radiator Air Upper Baffle- Upper (3) - Install

  93. Radiator Air Upper Baffle Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  94. Radiator Air Upper Baffle Retainer (1) - Install [5x]

    Transmission Control Module (1) @ Engine Control Module Bracket (2) - Install

  99. Connect the electrical connectors.

    Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Pipe (3) - Install

  101. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clamp (4) @ Engine Radiator - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  102. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clip (2) @ Engine Control Module Bracket - Install
  103. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clamp (1) @ Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Oil Filler Cap - Remove

  105. Intake Manifold Cover (2) - Install
  106. Intake Manifold Cover Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  107. Oil Filler Cap - Install
  108. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 GE 47716)
  109. Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  110. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
  111. Inspect the exhaust system for leaks.
