Installation Procedure

    Install the 2 EN-46109  Guide Pin (1).

    Apply a 3 mm (0.118 in) bead of RTV sealant on the engine front cover as shown (1). Apply a 5 mm (0.197 in) bead of RTV sealant on the engine front cover as shown (2). Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    Crankshaft Balancer (1) - Loosely install

    Install the EN-41478 - A  Crankshaft Front Oil Seal Installer (1) and the EN-41665 - A  Crankshaft Balancer and Sprocket Installer (2) to the crankshaft balancer (2).

  56. Use the adjustment nut on the EN-41478 - A  Crankshaft Front Oil Seal Installer (1) to properly seat the crankshaft balancer (3).
  57. Once the crankshaft balancer has been properly seated, remove the EN-41478 - A  Crankshaft Front Oil Seal Installer (1) and the EN-41665 - A  Crankshaft Balancer and Sprocket Installer (2).

    Install the EN-52287  Balancer Holding Kit (1) and the EN-956 - 1  Extension Bar (2) to the crankshaft balancer (3).

    Install the front cradle sheer plate (2) between the front bumper fascia center air deflector and the driveline and front suspension cradle and raise into position.

    Use a suitable tool to rotate the drive belt tensioner (1) counterclockwise, then hold tension.

  89. Install the accessory drive primary belt (2) onto the last idler pulley. Check to ensure that the drive belt is centered on each pulley, and fully seated into ribbed pulleys.
  90. Slowly release tension from the drive belt tensioner (1).
  91. Inspect the accessory drive primary belt (2) again to ensure centered on each pulley.

    If a NEW threaded component is being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded component is reused, prepare the threaded component using the following steps:

    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Remove loose debris from internal and external threads using compressed air.
    4. Apply liquid thread locking adhesive in a strip along half of the length of the external threads, starting at the tip, just prior to installation. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

  197. Install all retainers and wiring harnesses to the air cleaner assembly as necessary.
  198. Connect the 2 mass airflow sensor electrical connectors.

  218. Install all wiring harness retainers to the front end sheet metal cross braces.

  220. Radiator Air Upper Baffle Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  221. Radiator Air Upper Baffle Retainer (1) - Install [5x]

    Plenum Front Panel (1) - Install - Plenum Front Panel Removal and Installation (with Blackwing) , or Plenum Front Panel Removal and Installation (without Blackwing)

  223. Fill the charge air cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 GE 47716)
  224. Fill the engine oil to the proper level with NEW engine oil. Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
  225. Start the engine and check for leaks.
