Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
Do not lubricate the crankshaft front oil seal or the crankshaft balancer sealing surfaces.
Using the EN-29184 Oiil Seal Installer (1) install the NEW crankshaft front oil seal (2).
- NOTE:
- Align the notch of the crankshaft balancer to the timing pin in the crankshaft.

Crankshaft Balancer (1) - Loosely install
- NOTE:
Some components not shown for graphic clarity.
Install the EN-41478 - A Crankshaft Front Oil Seal Installer (1) and the EN-41665 - A Crankshaft Balancer and Sprocket Installer (2) to the crankshaft balancer (2).
- Use the adjustment nut on the EN-41478 - A Crankshaft Front Oil Seal Installer (1) to properly seat the crankshaft balancer (3).
- Once the crankshaft balancer has been properly seated, remove the EN-41478 - A Crankshaft Front Oil Seal Installer (1) and the EN-41665 - A Crankshaft Balancer and Sprocket Installer (2).
- NOTE:
Some components not shown for graphic clarity.
Install the EN-52287 Balancer Holding Kit (1) and the EN-956 - 1 Extension Bar (2) to the crankshaft balancer (3).
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .

Crankshaft Balancer Bolt (1) - Install NEW and tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Remove the EN-52287 Balancer Holding Kit (1) and the EN-956 - 1 Extension Bar (2) to the crankshaft balancer (3).
Install the front cradle sheer plate (2) between the front bumper fascia center air deflector and the driveline and front suspension cradle and raise into position.
- Ensure that the left and right side wheelhouse liners (1) are positioned in place under the front cradle sheer plate (2).
Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
Front Crossmember Brace Bolt (3) - Install and tighten [8x] - Fastener Specifications
- Front Cradle Shear Plate Nut (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Front Cradle Shear Plate Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
- Remove the jack.
Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Install
- Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

Front Compartment Air Deflector- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install
- NOTE:
Left side shown, right side similar.
Front Compartment Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications
- Front Wheelhouse Liner Retainer- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]
- Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
Radiator Outlet Hose (1) - Install
Install the radiator outlet hose (2) to the right side charge air cooler ensuring that it is fully seated.
- Install the radiator outlet hose retainer (3) into the radiator outlet hose connector.
- Radiator Outlet Hose Clip (1) @ Charge Air Cooler Bracket - Install

Front Wheelhouse Liner- Right Side (3) - Install - Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement , or Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Blackwing)
Radiator Outlet Hose Clip (2) @ Engine Cooler Fan - Install
- Radiator Outlet Hose Clip (1) @ Radiator Outlet Hose Bracket - Install
Radiator Outlet Hose (1) @ Engine Radiator - Install
- Radiator Outlet Hose Clamp (2) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
Radiator Outlet Hose (4) @ Radiator Outlet Pipe - Install
- Radiator Outlet Hose (3) @ Engine Oil Cooler Adapter - Install
- Radiator Outlet Hose Clamp (2) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
- Radiator Outlet Hose Clamp (1) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
Use a suitable tool to rotate the drive belt tensioner (1) counterclockwise, then hold tension.
- Install the accessory drive primary belt (2) onto the last idler pulley. Check to ensure that the drive belt is centered on each pulley, and fully seated into ribbed pulleys.
- Slowly release tension from the drive belt tensioner (1).
- Inspect the accessory drive primary belt (2) again to ensure centered on each pulley.
Air Cleaner Assembly (2) - Install
- Air Cleaner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Install all retainers and wiring harnesses to the air cleaner assembly as necessary.
- Connect the 2 mass airflow sensor electrical connectors.
Auxiliary Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (4) - Install
- Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (3) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (2) - Install
- Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (1) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications

Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Install [2x]
- Front Suspension Strut Upper Mounting Nut- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
- Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications
- Install all wiring harness retainers to the front end sheet metal cross braces.
Radiator Air Upper Baffle- Upper (3) - Install
- Radiator Air Upper Baffle Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Radiator Air Upper Baffle Retainer (1) - Install [5x]
Transmission Control Module (1) @ Engine Control Module Bracket (2) - Install
- Engine Control Module Bracket (2) - Install
Engine Control Module Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
Engine Control Module (1) - Install
- Connect the electrical connectors.
Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Pipe (3) - Install
- Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clamp (4) @ Engine Radiator - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
- Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clip (2) @ Engine Control Module Bracket - Install
- Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clamp (1) @ Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
- Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LF4 GE 47716)
- Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
