Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Cadillac CT4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    NOTE:

    Before installing the manual transmission control, ensure that the shift shaft it is clean of dirt or lubricants.

  1. Install the manual transmission control to the transmission.

    NOTE:

    Install the right manual transmission control lever base pin (2).

  3. Install the left manual transmission control lever base pin (2).

    Install the manual transmission control lever base pin (2).

  5. Install the 2 manual transmission control lever base pin retainers (1).
  6. Raise the transmission.

    Transmission Mount (2) - Install

  8. NOTE:

    For proper bolt alignment, loosely install all mount bolts prior to tightening to specifications.

  9. Transmission Mount Bolt (1) - Loosely install [2x]

    Transmission Mount Bracket Bolt (1) - Loosely install [4x]

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Transmission Mount Bolt (1) - Tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Transmission Mount Bracket Bolt (1) - Tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

  13. Remove the jack stand.

    Position the propeller shaft (1) in the vehicle.

    If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps:

    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  16. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  17. Install the 2 propeller shaft bearing support bolts (1) and tighten. Fastener Specifications

    Align the reference mark (3) between the propeller shaft flange (1) and the rear axle pinion flange (2).

    If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps:

    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  20. Install the 3 rear propeller shaft nuts (2) and 3 the rear propeller shaft bolts (1).
  21. Tighten the 3 the rear propeller shaft bolts (1). Fastener Specifications

    Align the reference mark (2) between the propeller shaft flange (3) and the output flange (1) of the transmission.

  24. Install the 3 front propeller shaft nuts (1) and the 3 front propeller shaft bolts (2).
  25. Tighten the 3 front propeller shaft bolts (1). Fastener Specifications

    Floor Panel Number 2 Cross Bar Reinforcement (2) - Install

  27. Floor Panel Number 2 Cross Bar Reinforcement Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Exhaust Intermediate Underbody Heat Shield (2) - Install

  29. Exhaust Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Catalytic Converter Gasket (2) - Install NEW

  31. With the aid of an assistant, install the exhaust muffler (1).

    Exhaust Muffler Hanger Bracket Nut (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Electrical Connector (1) - Connect

    Underbody Rear Air Deflector- Left Side (5) - Install

  42. Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Bracket Bolt- Left Side (3) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  43. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Left Side (2) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications
  44. Underbody Front Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications

    Underbody Rear Air Deflector- Right Side (5) - Install

  46. Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Bracket Bolt- Right Side (3) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  47. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications
  48. Underbody Front Air Deflector Bolt- Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications

    Underbody Rear Air Deflector- Right Side (5) - Install

  50. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Right Side (3) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  51. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt- Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  52. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Right Side (4) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  53. Rear Wheelhouse Liner Bolt- Right Side (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Underbody Rear Air Deflector- Left Side (5) - Install

  55. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Left Side (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  56. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side (3) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  57. Underbody Rear Air Deflector Nut- Left Side (4) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  58. Rear Wheelhouse Liner Bolt- Left Side (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Rear Tire Front Air Deflector- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]

  60. Rear Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Pull up and outward on the tabs on the closeout boot (1) to clear the body structure.

  62. Install the 4 manual transmission control bracket bolts (1, 2) securing the shift control assembly to the tunnel reinforcement, then tighten. Fastener Specifications

    Install the manual transmission control lever lower boot (1) to the manual transmission control (2).

    Front Floor Console Wiring Harness Extension Harness (1) - Install

    Wireless Charging System Module (2) - Install

  66. Wireless Charging System Module Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  67. Connect the electrical connector.

    Vehicle Stability Control System Switch (2) - Install

  69. Auxiliary Multifunction Switch Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  70. Connect the electrical connector.

    Connect the electrical connector.

  74. Position the transmission control lever boot and knob assembly (1, 2) on the manual transmission control lever.
  75. Tighten the manual transmission control lever knob bolt (3). Fastener Specifications
  76. Install the manual transmission control lever boot (2) to the console.
  77. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  78. Inspect the exhaust system for leaks.
