Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine. Engine Replacement 
  2. Remove the valve lifter oil manifold. Valve Lifter Oil Manifold Replacement 
  3. Remove the valve lifter follower guide assembly. Valve Lifter Follower Guide Assembly Replacement 
  4. Remove the valve lifters. Valve Lifter Replacement 
  5. Remove the CMP actuator and timing chain. Timing Chain, Crankshaft Sprocket, Camshaft Position Actuator, and Solenoid Valve Replacement

  6. Remove the camshaft retainer bolts (1).
  7. Remove the camshaft retainer (2).
  8. Remove the camshaft (3).
  9. For camshaft and bearing cleaning and inspection, refer to Camshaft and Bearings Cleaning and Inspection .
