Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    If a new sensor is not being installed, a new camshaft sensor seal MUST be installed to prevent leaks.

  1. Connect the camshaft position sensor electrical connector (3) to the camshaft position sensor (1).
  2. Install the camshaft position sensor (1) into the engine front cover (2).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Position the camshaft position sensor bracket (2) in place then install the camshaft position sensor bracket fasteners (1) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  4. Install Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement - Accessory .
  5. Connect the battery ground cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Dual Battery)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) .
  6. If re-programming is required, refer to Control Module References .
