WARNING: When a lift gate hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury. Preliminary Procedures Remove the rear compartment lift window. Refer to Rear Compartment Lift Window Replacement (Chevrolet, GMC) Disconnect the electrical connectors, reposition the pass through boot and release the lever lock. Disconnect the liftgate power assist actuator if equipped. Refer to Liftgate Power Assist Actuator Replacement (Chevrolet, GMC) . Disconnect the Liftgate strut. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement (Manual) Liftgate Strut Replacement (Power Assist)
1	Liftgate Body Hinge Bolt (Qty: 4) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
2	Liftgate Assembly Procedure With the aid of an assistant remove the liftgate assembly Transfer parts as needed. NOTE: Calibrate the power liftgate. Refer to Liftgate Calibration .

Preliminary Procedures

Remove the rear compartment lift window. Refer to Rear Compartment Lift Window Replacement (Chevrolet, GMC)

Disconnect the Liftgate strut. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement (Manual) Liftgate Strut Replacement (Power Assist)

Liftgate Body Hinge Bolt (Qty: 4)

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten
25 N.m (18 lb ft)

Liftgate Assembly
Procedure
With the aid of an assistant remove the liftgate assembly
Transfer parts as needed.

NOTE:

Calibrate the power liftgate. Refer to Liftgate Calibration .
