1-3-5-6-7 Clutch Backing Plate Procedure
- Assemble the tools as shown and clamp the DT-50900
fixture to the bench.
- Apply 30 pounds of pressure to the load gauge by turning the screw on the DT-50900
fixture clockwise.
- Ensure the plunger of the dial indicator is located on the backing plate.
- Zero out the dial indicator.
- Remove the pressure on the load gauge by turning the screw on the DT-50900
fixture one full turn counterclockwise.
CAUTION:
Regulate the air pressure to 345 kPa (50 psi) maximum. High pressure could cause the piston to over travel and damage the piston seals.
- Apply 345 kPa (50 psi) of compressed air to the indicated hole on the DT-50905
air adapter and simultaneously adjust the screw on the DT-50900
fixture to apply 30 pounds of pressure to the load gauge.
- Observe the dial indicator measurement. Refer to Clutch Backing Plate Retaining Ring Specifications
to determine the correct 1-3-5-6-7 clutch backing plate retaining ring.
