Removal Procedure

NOTE:

When raising or supporting the engine for any reason, do not use a jack under any sheet metal or the crankshaft pulley.

  1. Remove the upper intake manifold sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
  2. Partially raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Remove the right wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (Chevrolet)Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Right Side (GMC) .

  4. Remove the engine mount to frame bolts (1).
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  6. Undo clip for transmission cooler lines.
  7. Undo the front stabilizer shaft insulators. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement (Light Duty)Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement (Heavy Duty) .

  8. Remove the engine mount to engine bolts (1).
  9. Using the adjustable jack, raise the engine slightly until there is enough clearance to remove the engine mount.

  10. Remove the engine mount.
