B227 Gear Position Sensor

- Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF, disconnect the connector at the B227 Gear Position Sensor. It may take up to 2 min for all vehicle systems to power down.
- Remove the B227 gear position sensor from the transfer case.
- Reconnect the connector to B227 gear position sensor.
- Ignition ON, engine OFF.
- Verify that the Transfer Case Range Position Sensor parameter sweeps between -146° and 204° while rotating the center locating tab of the B227 gear position sensor.NOTE: If DTC C0392 is set you wont be able to perform the sweep.
- If the Transfer Case Range Position Sensor parameter does NOT sweep between -146° and 204°
Replace the B227 gear position sensor. Refer to Transfer Case Two/Four Wheel Drive Actuator Position Sensor Replacement .
- Go to next step: If the Transfer Case Range Position Sensor parameter DOES sweep between -146° and 204°
- If the Transfer Case Range Position Sensor parameter does NOT sweep between -146° and 204°
- B227 gear position sensor OK.
