Hood Primary And Secondary Latch Replacement

Preliminary Procedure 
Remove the front compartment front sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement (GMC) Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement (Chevrolet) Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement (Cadillac) 
1 Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Bolts (Qty: 2)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

NOTE:

Use a grease pencil to mark the location of the hood latch before removing the bolts.


Tighten 
22 N.m (16 lb ft)
2 Hood Primary and Secondary Latch

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the hood release cable from hood latch.
  2. Disconnect any electrical connectors.
  3. Align the hood latch if necessary.
