Removal Procedure

    NOTE:

    Removal of the charge air cooler pipe is not required for cylinders 2 and 6 coil replacement.

  1. Remove the intake manifold cover - LF3. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LF3) .
  2. For cylinder #6, disconnect the charge air bypass valve - left side LF3, from the charge air cooler inlet pipe - left side only and reposition the valve. Refer to Charge Air Bypass Valve Replacement - Left Side (LF3) .
  3. For cylinder #4, disconnect and reposition the charge air cooler inlet pipe (left) from the charge air cooler cover. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement - Left Side (LF3) .

  4. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector(s) (1) from the ignition coil(s) (2).

  5. Remove the ignition coil bolt(s) (1).
  6. Remove the ignition coil(s) (2).
