Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator - LF3. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement (LF3) .
    2. NOTE:

    Removal of the charge air cooler pipe is not required for cylinders 1 and 5 coil replacement.

  2. For cylinder number 1 coil replacement, disconnect and reposition the charge air bypass valve - right side LF3 from the charge air cooler inlet pipe right LF3 only. Refer to Charge Air Bypass Valve Replacement - Right Side (LF3) .
  3. For cylinder number 3 coil replacement, disconnect and reposition the charge air cooler inlet pipe (right) from the charge air cooler cover only. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement - Right Side (LF3) .

  4. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector(s) (1) from the ignition coil(s) (2).

  5. Remove the ignition coil bolt(s) (1).
  6. Remove the ignition coil(s) (2).
