Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X175/X176 harness connector at the T12 Automatic Transmission Assembly, connect the DT-48493 jumper harness to the vehicle harness side only.
- Ignition ON.
- Test for less than 10 ohms between the low reference circuit terminals listed below and ground for the appropriate drive motor:
- Drive motor 1 low reference circuit terminal 19
- Drive motor 2 low reference circuit terminal 23
- If 10 Ω or greater
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the T6 Power Inverter Module.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the low reference circuit end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, replace the T6 Power Inverter Module.
- If less than 10 Ω
- Verify the scan tool motor control module Motor Temperature Sensor parameter is greater than 4.42 V.
- If 4.42 V or less
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the T6 Power Inverter Module.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminal listed below and ground for the appropriate drive motor:
- Drive motor 1 sensor circuit terminal 13
- Drive motor 2 sensor circuit terminal 22
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- If infinite resistance, replace the T6 Power Inverter Module.
- If greater than 4.42 V
- Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal and the low reference circuit terminal listed below for the appropriate drive motor:
- Drive motor 1 circuit terminals 13 and 19
- Drive motor 2 circuit terminals 22 and 23
- Verify the scan tool motor control module motor temperature sensor parameter is less than 0.29 V.
- If 0.29 V or greater
- Ignition OFF, remove the jumper wire, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the T6 Power Inverter Module, ignition ON.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V
- Ignition OFF.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, replace the T6 Power Inverter Module.
NOTE:If a short to voltage is found, test the motor temperature sensor for damage.
- If less than 0.29 V
- Refer to Component Testing .
NOTE:
The ignition must be ON to test the low reference circuit. Other DTCs will set with the X175/X176 connector disconnected.
