Preliminary Procedure: Remove the transfer adapter from the transmission. Refer to Transfer Case Adapter Replacement for the BW 4485-NR3 transfer case or Transfer Case Adapter Replacement for the MP 3023/3024-NQH transfer case.
1	Output Shaft Seal Procedure Use the J 45000 to remove the seal. See Special Tools . Use care in order to avoid damaging the output shaft bushing. Lubricate the seal with clean transmission fluid. Use the J 36183 to install the seal. Special Tools J 45000 Seal Remover. See Special Tools . J 36183 Seal Installer

Output Shaft Seal

Procedure

Use the J 45000 to remove the seal. See Special Tools . Use care in order to avoid damaging the output shaft bushing.
Lubricate the seal with clean transmission fluid.
Use the J 36183 to install the seal.
