Front Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement

WARNING: Replace the passenger presence system as a complete assembly to prevent possible injury to the occupant. All the components in the service kit are assembled and calibrated as a unit. Using only some of the components in the service kit will cause the passenger presence system to operate improperly.

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
  2. Re-zero the inflatable restraint passenger presence system whenever the seat cushion or any component of the passenger presence system is removed. Refer to Control Module References .
1 Seat Adjuster Switch Bezel
Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Adjuster Switch Bezel Replacement .
2 Seat Cushion Front Cover
Refer to Front Seat Riser Finish Cover Replacement .
3 Seat Recliner Inner Finish Cover
Refer to Front Seat Riser Finish Cover Replacement .
4 Seat Recliner Outer Finish Cover
Refer to Front Seat Riser Finish Cover Replacement .
5 Seat Adjuster Finish Cover
Refer to Front Seat Riser Finish Cover Replacement .
6 Seat Cushion Pad
Tip: 
  1. Disconnect the seat cushion cover J-channel from the seat cushion frame.
  2. Remove the seat cushion cover and pad as an assembly.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector if working on the passenger seat.
  4. The passenger presence system is part of the pad on the passenger seat cushion, and must be replaced as an assembly.
