Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
  2. Partially drain the engine cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47719) .
  3. Remove the radiator hose from the water outlet housing. Position the hose aside.
  4. Disconnect the actuator solenoid electrical connector.
  5. Remove the right intake camshaft position (CMP) actuator solenoid bolts.
  6. Remove the right intake CMP actuator solenoid.
