Charge Air Cooling System Coolant Level Inspection

  1. Remove the intake manifold sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
    2. Fig 1: Coolant Level Inspection

  2. Verify that the coolant is at the cold fill line on the charge air cooling system fill neck.
  3. Verify that the coolant is at the cold fill line on the charge air cooling system reservoir.
    4. IMPORTANT: Use a 50/50 mixture of DEX-COOL® antifreeze and clean drinkable water.
  4. Add coolant as necessary to the fill neck and reservoir to bring the coolant level to the cold fill line.
  5. Install the intake manifold sight shield. Refer to Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
