2	Install a scan tool. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF. With the scan tool, observe the Ignition 1 parameter in the IPC Inputs data list. Does the Ignition 1 parameter display On?	Go to Step 3	Go to Step 12
3	Press and release each of the driver information center (DIC) buttons individually. With the scan tool, observe the DIC switch parameters in the IPC Inputs data list. Do the DIC switch parameters display On when each button is pressed and Off when each button is released?	Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems	Go to Step 4
4	Do the DIC switch parameters display Off when all of the following DIC buttons are pressed? DSPL MODE ENG/MET TRIP RESET TRIP A/B	Go to Step 11	Go to Step 5

7	Turn the ignition OFF. Disconnect the DIC switch. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF. With the scan tool, observe the suspected DIC switch parameter. Does the suspected DIC switch parameter display On for the suspected switch?	Go to Step 9	Go to Step 13
8	Turn the ignition OFF. Disconnect the DIC switch. Connect a 3 ampere fused jumper between the signal circuit of the suspected DIC switch and a good ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF. With the scan tool, observe the suspected DIC switch parameter. Does the suspected DIC switch parameter display On for the suspected switch?	Go to Step 13	Go to Step 10
9	Test the signal circuit of the suspected DIC switch for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems. Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 17	Go to Step 14
10	Test the signal circuit of the suspected DIC switch for an open or for a high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems. Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 17	Go to Step 14
11	Test the ground circuit of the DIC switch for an open or for a high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems. Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 17	Go to Step 13
