Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the intake air resonator. Refer to Intake Air Resonator Replacement in Engine Controls-2.6L and 3.2L.
  2. Remove the intake plenum. Refer to Intake Plenum Replacement .
  3. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .

  4. Remove the water pump pulley bolts.
  5. Remove the water pump pulley from the water pump.

  6. Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts ONLY.
  7. Remove the power steering pump from the accessory mounting bracket, and position aside.

  8. Remove the timing belt cover bolts.
  9. Remove the timing belt cover from the engine.
  10. Clean and inspect the timing belt cover. Refer to Timing Belt Cover Cleaning and Inspection - Front .
  11. Inspect the timing belt for serviceability. Refer to Timing Belt Inspection .
