Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to SIR CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disable the SIR. Refer to ZONE 7 and ZONE 9 in Air Bag Restraint Systems.
  2. Set the parking brake.
  3. Remove the console trim plate. Refer to TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - CONSOLE   . 
  4. Remove the left console trim panel. Refer to CONSOLE TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - LEFT   . 
  5. Remove the right console trim panel. Refer to CONSOLE TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - RIGHT   . 
  6. Disconnect the shift cable from the shift lever pin and the shift bracket. Refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION RANGE SELECTOR CABLE REPLACEMENT  in Automatic Transmission-4T80-E.

  7. Disconnect the park lock cable from the shifter. Refer to PARK LOCK CABLE REPLACEMENT (LHD)  or PARK LOCK CABLE REPLACEMENT (RHD)  in Automatic Transmission-4T80-E.
  8. Remove the storage bins or the CD changer. Refer to CONSOLE STORAGE BIN REPLACEMENT   or REMOTE CD CHANGER REPLACEMENT  in Entertainment.
  9. Remove the cover (1) from the floor of the storage bin.

  10. Disconnect the floor console electrical connectors (1, 2, 3).
  11. Move both front seats to the rear in order to access the front console to floor bolts.

  12. Remove the bolts (1) that secure the metal bracket arms to the floor.
  13. Remove the nuts (2) from the console rear to the floor pan.

  14. Remove the screws (2) from the console (1) to the lower instrument panel (I/P).

  15. Lift up the rear of the floor console to access the cellular phone connections.
  16. Disconnect the cellular phone electrical connector (1).
  17. Disconnect the cellular phone coaxial cable (2).
    NOTE: When removing or installing the center console, do not allow the metal brackets to scrape the seats and damage the material.
  18. Lift up the rear of the console and slide the console rearward.
  19. Remove the floor console fro the vehicle.
