Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to SIR CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.

Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling ZONE 3 in SIR.
Remove the steering wheel. Refer to STEERING WHEEL REPLACEMENT .
Remove the tilt steering column lever (1) from steering column (2).

If necessary, remove the trim plug from the bottom of the lower trim cover.
Remove the retaining screws (1) that secure the lower trim cover (2) to the steering column.

Remove the lower trim cover by tilting the cover down and sliding the cover back in order to disengage the locking tabs.

Remove the retaining screws (1) from the upper steering column trim cover (2).
Remove the upper steering column trim cover (2).
