Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to SIR CAUTION .
  1. Disable the SIR. Refer to DISABLING SYSTEM .
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the IP center storage compartment or the floor console. Refer to Compartment Replacement - IP (Base and DHS)  or Compartment Replacement - IP (DTS)  or Console Replacement - Front Floor (DTS, w/o UV8)  or Console Replacement - Front Floor (DTS with UV8) .

  4. Remove the left IP outer trim cover. Refer to Instrument Panel (IP) Outer Trim Cover Replacement - Left .
  5. Remove the right IP outer trim cover. Refer to Instrument Panel (IP) Outer Trim Cover Replacement - Right .
  6. Remove the headlamp switch. Refer to HEADLAMP SWITCH REPLACEMENT .
  7. Remove the drivers knee bolster bracket. Refer to Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement - Left .
  8. Remove the radio or the navigation display module. Refer to RADIO REPLACEMENT (U1R, UM5, UM9) or RADIO REPLACEMENT (U3Q, U3R, U3S) .
  9. Remove the HVAC control module. Refer to HVAC CONTROL MODULE .
  10. Remove the IP cluster. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Replacement .
  11. Remove the IP storage compartment. Refer to Storage Compartment Replacement - IP .
  12. Remove the right IP accessory trim plate. Refer Trim Plate Replacement - IP Accessory Right .
  13. Remove the IP fasteners (1) from each end of the IP retainer.
  14. Remove the remaining fasteners from the IP retainer (1).
  15. Partially remove the IP retainer (1) from the IP carrier (2). Disconnect the inside air temperature sensor electrical connector.
  16. Guide the wiring through the IP retainer openings as necessary.
  17. Remove the IP retainer (1) from the vehicle.
  18. Remove the Inside air temperature sensor from the IP retainer (1). Refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION (INSIDE ASSEMBLY) .
