Description & Operation: Notes
NOTE:
This article covers the Constant Velocity Road Sensing (CVRS) system. All models are also equipped with Automatic Level Control (ALC). For information on ALC system, see AUTOMATIC - LEVEL CONTROL - CADILLAC WITH CVRSS article.
Continuously Variable Road-Sensing Suspension (CVRSS) system performs 2 functions:
- Controls firmness of vehicle ride (this part of the system is called CVRSS, although the term CVRSS is also applied to the entire system).
- Adjusts vehicle riding height (this part of the system is called Automatic Level Control, or ALC).
On DeVille models, CVRSS system is controlled by Electronic Suspension Control (ESC) module. On Seville and Eldorado models, CVRSS system is controlled by CVRSS control module. System control module also monitors system for faults. If a fault occurs, Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are stored in memory. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS table.
