High Beam Indicator Always On
- If lighting diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If lighting diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to LIGHTING SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in HEADLIGHTS - AUTOMATIC TWILIGHT SENTINEL - SEVILLE article.
- Check operation of high beam headlights. If high beam headlights operate properly, go to next step. If high beam headlights do not operate properly, diagnose high beam headlight malfunction. See HEADLIGHT SYSTEMS & DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS article.
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Select Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) SPECIAL FUNCTIONS. Perform DISPLAY(S) TEST. Observe high beam indicator on IPC during. If high beam indicator illuminates and then turns off, check for intermittent or poor connections at IPC. If high beam indicator illuminates and does not turn off, go to next step.
- Replace Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
- Recheck high beam indicator operation. If high beam indicator operates properly, repair is complete. If high beam indicator does not operate properly, go to step 2 .
