Engine Coolant Temperature Indicator Inoperative
- If cooling system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If cooling system diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to COOLING SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC TESTS.
- Check operation of engine coolant temperature gauge. If engine coolant temperature gauge operates properly, go to next step. If engine coolant temperature gauge does not operate properly, go to COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE INACCURATE OR INOPERATIVE .
- Turn ignition off and back on. This will activate bulb check. Monitor engine coolant temperature indicator on Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) during bulb check. If engine coolant temperature indicator illuminates during the bulb check and then turns off, check for intermittent or poor connections at IPC. If engine coolant temperature indicator does not illuminate during the bulb check, go to next step.
- Replace Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
- Recheck engine coolant temperature indicator operation. If engine coolant temperature indicator operates properly, repair is complete. If engine coolant temperature indicator does not operate properly, go to step 2 .
