DTC B2515: Steering Wheel Controls Illegal Resistance Value: Testing

  1. If instrument panel cluster diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If instrument panel cluster diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Monitor STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS counts. If STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS counts are 0-7, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  . If STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS counts are not 0-7, go to next step.
  3. Check for open or high resistance in Orange wire between steering wheel controls and CLUSTER fuse located in rear compartment fuse block. If circuit is okay, go to next step. If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step  5 .
  4. Replace steering wheel switches. See STEERING WHEEL SWITCHES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
  5. Use scan tool to clear DTCs. Recheck steering wheel switch operation. Recheck for DTC. If DTC B2515 resets, go to step  2 . If DTC does not reset, repair is complete.
