DTC B2511: Steering Wheel Controls Convenience Key Stuck: Testing

  1. If instrument panel cluster diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If instrument panel cluster diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Monitor STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS counts. If STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS counts are 0-7, go to DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  . If STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS counts are not 0-7, go to next step.
  3. Replace steering wheel switches. See STEERING WHEEL SWITCHES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
  4. Use scan tool to clear DTCs. Recheck steering wheel switch operation. Recheck for DTC. If DTC B2511 resets, go to step  2 . If DTC does not reset, repair is complete.
