DTC B1982: Device Power 1 Circuit High: Testing
- If instrument panel cluster diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If instrument panel cluster diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- With engine running, use DVOM to measure voltage between ground and one terminal on backside of CLUSTER fuse (20-amp), located in rear compartment fuse block. See Figure . If voltage is less than 15.5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is greater than 15.5 volts, locate and repair problem in charging system. See GENERATORS & REGULATORS - ELDORADO article in STARTING & CHARGING SYSTEMS.
- Replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using scan tool, obtain approximate mileage, and contact an authorized Delco service center for transfer of information from failed IPC to replacement IPC. Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
