DTC B1552: Loss Of Keep Alive Memory (KAM): Testing
- If instrument panel cluster diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If instrument panel cluster diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Using scan tool, check for Platform Zone Module (PZM) DTCs. If DTC B1972 or B1973 are set as current, go to DIAGNOSTIC TESTS in BODY CONTROL MODULES - ELDORADO article. If DTC B1972 or B1973 are not set as current, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Turn ignition off and back on. Recheck for IPC DTCs. If DTC B1552 is set as current, go to next step. If DTC B1552 is not set as current, system is okay at this time.
- Check for open in Orange wire between CLUSTER fuse (20-amp), located in rear compartment fuse block, and IPC connector C1 terminals A1 and B1. See Figure . If circuit is okay, go to next step. If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using scan tool, obtain approximate mileage, and contact an authorized Delco service center for transfer of information from failed IPC to replacement IPC. After repairs, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
