DTC B0532: Fuel Sensor Short To Ground: Testing
- If instrument panel cluster diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If instrument panel cluster diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect fuel level sender assembly. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Connect Gauge Tester (J33431-C) between fuel level sender connector terminals "D" (Purple/White wire) and "F" (Black wire). Set resistance to 250 ohms. Turn ignition on. If fuel gauge does not read full, go to next step. If fuel gauge reads full, go to step 4 .
- Check for short to ground in Purple/White wire between Platform Zone Module (PZM) connector C1 terminal B12 and fuel level sender connector terminal "D". See Figure . If circuit is okay, go to next step. If faulty circuit is found, go to step 6 .
- Replace fuel level sensor. See FUEL LEVEL SENSOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Replace Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using scan tool, obtain approximate mileage, and contact an authorized Delco service center for transfer of information from failed IPC to replacement IPC. After repairs, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Repair short to ground in Purple/White wire. After repairs, go to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
