Engine Oil Pressure Indicator Always On/Inoperative

  1. If instrument cluster diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If instrument cluster diagnostic system check was not performed, go to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Turn ignition off and back on. This will activate Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) bulb check. Observe engine oil pressure indicator during the bulb check. If engine oil pressure indicator illuminates during bulb check and then turns off, check for intermittent connections or faulty circuits. If engine oil pressure indicator does not illuminate during bulb check and then turn off, go to next step.
  3. Replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
  4. After repairs, recheck operation of indicator. If indicator operates properly, repair is complete. If indicator does not operate properly, go to step  2 .
