DTC B2780: PASS-Key(R) II WRONG RESISTOR VALUE BEFORE GOOD: Testing

  1. If IPC diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If IPC diagnostic system check was not performed, go to IPC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Ensure key is clean and free from contamination. Insert key into ignition switch. Start engine. If STARTING DISABLED message is displayed, go to step  4 . If STARTING DISABLED message is not displayed, go to next step.
  3. Replace key. Perform IPC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  4. Using each valid vehicle ignition key, attempt to start engine. Wait 3 minutes between each attempt. If engine starts, go to step  6 . If engine does not start, go to next step.
  5. Perform procedure for replacement of lost PASS-Key(R) II ignition keys. See ANTI-THEFT SYSTEMS - DEVILLE & ELDORADO article. Start engine. If engine starts, perform IPC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  . If engine does not start, go to next step.
  6. Replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform IPC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
