IPC Diagnostic System Check

  1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Wait one minute. If SERVICE ENGINE SOON indicator is still illuminated, go to appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If SERVICE ENGINE SOON indicator is not illuminated, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect scan tool. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, request IPC DTC display. If scan tool receives data, go to next step. If scan tool does not receive data, locate and repair problem in Platform Zone Module (PZM) system. See BODY CONTROL MODULES - DEVILLE & ELDORADO article.
  3. If any current DTC exists, go to appropriate DTC test. If no current DTCs exist, go to next step.
  4. Clear any history DTCs. See RETRIEVING & CLEARING DTCS  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Test drive vehicle. Recheck system.
