Code C1785: ICCS2 DATALINK Right Output Short Circuit To Ground/Open Circuit

  1. Perform CVRSS SYSTEM CHECK  . After performing CVRSS system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 32-pin CVRSS control module connector C1. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ICCS2 data link output right circuit (Gray wire) of CVRSS control module harness connector C1 and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to step  8 . If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
  3. Check continuity between ICCS2 data link output right circuit (Gray wire) of CVRSS control module harness connector C1 and ground. If a short to ground is present, go to step  5 . If a short to ground is not present, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect Electronic Brake Traction Control Module (EBTCM) connector C2. Check continuity between ICCS2 data link output right circuit (Gray wire) of CVRSS control module harness connector C1 and ICCS2 data link input right circuit (Gray wire) of EBTCM harness connector C2. If continuity exists, go to step  10 . If continuity does not exist, go to step  6 .
  5. Disconnect Electronic Brake Traction Control Module (EBTCM) connector C2. Check continuity between ICCS2 data link output right circuit (Gray wire) of CVRSS control module harness connector C1 and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If continuity exists, go to step  7 . If continuity does not exist, go to step  10 .
  6. Repair open in ICCS2 data link output right circuit (Gray wire) or ICCS2 data link input right circuit (Gray wire). After repairs, perform CVRSS SYSTEM CHECK  .
  7. Repair short to ground in ICCS2 data link output right circuit (Gray wire).
  8. Check appropriate terminal/connection for corrosion or improper seating. Repair as necessary. If terminal/connection is okay, go to next step.
  9. Turn ignition off. Replace CVRSS control module. Reinstall/reconnect all components/connectors. Install scan tool. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Calibrate NEW CVRSS control module. See CALIBRATING CVRSS CONTROL MODULE  under ADJUSTMENTS.
  10. Turn ignition off. Replace EBTCM. After repairs, perform CVRSS SYSTEM CHECK  .
