Code C1712, C1717, C1722 & C1727: Damper Actuator Open Circuit
- CODE C1712: Left Front Damper Actuator Open Circuit
- CODE C1717: Right Front Damper Actuator Open Circuit
- CODE C1722: Left Rear Damper Actuator Open Circuit
- CODE C1727: Right Rear Damper Actuator Open Circuit
- Perform CVRSS system check. See CVRSS SYSTEM CHECK . After performing CVRSS system check, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect damper actuator connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between terminals of damper actuator connector (component side). If resistance is 9.5-15.5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 9.5-15.5 ohms, go to step 6 .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect 32-pin CVRSS control module connector C1. Check for open in damper ground circuit (LF=LT GRN, RF=BRN, LR=RED/BLK, RR=PPL). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Check for open in damper control circuit (LF=RED, RF=WHT/BLK, LR=RED, RR=YEL). Repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
- Check CVRSS control module connector and damper actuator connector for debris and corrosion. Check for intermittent poor electrical connections. Turn ignition off. Reinstall/reconnect all components/connectors. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Clear codes, and then wait 90 seconds. Display codes. If Code C1712, C1717, C1722 or C1727 is set, go to step 7 . If Code C1712, C1717, C1722 or C1727 is not set, see NOTES ON INTERMITTENTS under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
- Replace damper actuator.
- Turn ignition off. Replace CVRSS control module. Reinstall/reconnect all components/connectors. Install scan tool. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Calibrate NEW CVRSS control module. See CALIBRATING CVRSS CONTROL MODULE under ADJUSTMENTS.
