Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYMPTOM TESTING. Go to next step.
  2. Install scan tool. Select PROGRAMMING for SPECIAL FUNCTIONS menu. Follow programming instructions on display screen. If programming is successful, go to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  . If programming not successful, go to next step.
  3. Check power and ground circuits to instrument cluster. Repair as necessary. If circuits are okay, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repair, go to next step.
  4. Install scan tool. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Check for current and history DTCs. If any current DTCs exist, repair as necessary. If any history DTCs exist, clear history codes. Go to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
