Low Washer Fluid Level Indicator Always On

  1. Perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
  2. Disconnect windshield washer fluid level switch. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Turn ignition switch to ON position. Use DVOM and measure voltage between ground and washer fluid level switch connector terminal "B" (Brown/Yellow wire). If battery voltage is indicated, go to next step. If battery voltage is not indicated, go to step 4).
  3. Use DVOM to measure resistance between ground and washer fluid level switch connector terminal "A" (Black wire). If reading is 0-5 ohms, go to step 5). If reading is not 0-5 ohms, go to step 6).
  4. Check for open circuit in Brown/Yellow wire between washer fluid level switch and gauge cluster. Repair as necessary and recheck system operation. If circuit is okay, go to step 7).
  5. Replace washer fluid level switch. See WASHER FLUID LEVEL SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
  6. Locate and repair open in Black wire between washer fluid level switch and ground. Recheck system operation.
  7. Replace gauge cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GAUGES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Recheck system operation.
