Low Fuel Indicator Always On
- Perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
- If low fuel indicator is inoperative, go to next step. If low fuel indicator is okay, go to step 4).
- Install scan tool to DLC. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Select SPECIAL FUNCTIONS from the INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER MENU on scan tool display. Command the low fuel light from OFF to On. If low fuel light responds as specified, go to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK . If fuel light does not respond as specified, go to step 5).
- If low fuel indicator is on at all times, go to step 6). If low fuel indicator is not on at all times, go to next step.
- Replace and program the instrument cluster. See procedures in INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Install scan tool to DLC. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Select SPECIAL FUNCTIONS from the INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER MENU on scan tool display. Command the low fuel light OFF. If low fuel light responds as specified, go to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK . If fuel light does not respond as specified, go to step 5).
