Radiator Surge Tank Replacement

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION

Callout Component Name

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) 
  2. Radiator Surge Tank Overflow Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank - Remove - Radiator Surge Tank Overflow Hose Replacement (Radiator Surge Tank to Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe) , or Radiator Surge Tank Overflow Hose Replacement (Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe to Radiator) 
  3. Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank - Remove - Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose Replacement 
  4. {If equipped} Power Transfer Unit Vent Hose @ Radiator Surge Tank - Remove - Power Transfer Unit Vent Replacement
1 Radiator Surge Tank Bolt
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
9 N.m (80 lb in)
2 Radiator Surge Tank

Procedure

  1. Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) 
  2. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
