Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Re-cut the 8 engine flywheel bolt threads in the crankshaft.

    NOTE:

    Service may offer bolts that are not microencapsulated. If this is the case apply thread lock agent to the bolt. If fastener is microencapsulated, install 8 NEW engine flywheel bolts. DO NOT reuse the old bolt.

  2. Install the engine flywheel (1) and 8 NEW engine flywheel bolts (2) hand tighten.
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

  3. Tighten the 8 engine flywheel bolts (2) in a first pass to 53 N.m (39 lb ft).
  4. Tighten the flywheel bolts in a final pass to an additional 25 degrees, using the EN-45059  meter.

  5. Remove the EN-43653  holding tool (1) from the starter assembly location.
  6. Install the manual transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
