Removal Procedure

  1. Steering Knuckle Replacement (GNB)  Remove
  2. Front Suspension Strut Yoke Replacement (GNB)  Remove
  3. Front Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (GNB)  Remove
  4. Secure the steering knuckle in a vise with the steering knuckle king pin facing up, taking care not to damage any machined surfaces.

  5. Thread the EN-46720  injector remover (1) onto the J-45124  removal bridge (2).
    6. NOTE:
    • The J-45124  removal bridge has two adjustable width legs. The legs should be adjusted to the narrowest position.
    • The J-45124  removal bridge comes with two pulling bolts. Use the longer pulling bolt.
    • Before installing the EN-46720  injector remover into the steering knuckle king pin, ensure the king pin bolt hole threads are clean. The bolt hole threads are M8 x 1.25.
  6. Thread the EN-46720  injector remover (1) into the steering knuckle king pin (3) and position the legs of the J-45124  removal bridge (2) on the steering knuckle.

  7. Once the special tools are installed, to remove the steering knuckle king pin from the steering knuckle, use a wrench or socket to hold the pulling bolt (1) while simultaneously using a wrench (2) to turn the pulling nut clockwise.
  8. Once the steering knuckle king pin (3) is completely removed, the steering knuckle king pin bushing (4) can be removed from the steering knuckle.
