Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the engine oil and remove the oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
  2. Support the engine. Refer to Engine Support Fixture .
  3. Remove the drivetrain and front suspension frame front crossmember. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Replacement .

  5. Remove the front engine cover (1). Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement .
  6. Remove the front exhaust pipe. Refer to Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LTG FWD) .

  8. Remove the catalytic converter to oil pan brace fasteners (1).
  9. Remove the catalytic lower brace (2).
  10. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LTG) .

  12. Remove the engine oil cooler (1). Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Replacement .

  14. Remove the transmission to oil pan fastener (1).

  16. Remove the left oil pan to engine block fasteners (1, 2, 3).

  18. Disconnect the oil level sensor harness connector.
  19. Remove the oil pan to transmission fastener (2).
  20. Remove the right oil pan to engine block fasteners (1, 3).

  22. Remove the oil pan (1) from the engine.
