Removal Procedure

  1. Open the rear compartment.
  2. Use a grease pencil to mark the hinge to the rear compartment lid for the location at installation.
  3. Disconnect the lid harness in the rear compartment.
  4. Remove the rear compartment hinge to lid nuts. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement .
  5. Remove the rear compartment struts. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Strut Replacement .

  6. Use a grease pencil to mark the quarter panel hinge to the quarter panel. The mark will help you align the hinge at installation.
  7. Remove the bolts that attach the hinge to the rear quarter.
  8. Remove the hinge from the quarter panel.
