Installation Procedure

  1. Align the hinge to the alignment marks that was made on the quarter panel.
    2. Fig 1: Identifying Rear Compartment Hinge

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  2. Install the bolts that attach the hinge to the rear quarter.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the rear compartment struts. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Strut Replacement .
  4. Install the rear compartment lid nuts. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Replacement .
  5. Adjust the rear compartment lid height:
    • Use an Allen wrench to turn the rear compartment hinge height adjustment bumper.
    • Turn the rear compartment lid bumper by hand.
  6. Close the rear compartment.
