Removal Procedure

- Reposition the underhood electrical center. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement in Wiring Systems.
- Remove the right front diagonal brace. Refer to Brace Replacement - Sheet Metal Diagonal (Chevrolet) or Brace Replacement - Sheet Metal Diagonal (Pontiac) or Brace Replacement - Sheet Metal Diagonal (Buick) in Body Front End.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors from the washer pumps.
- Disconnect the washer hose connections at the front and rear washer pumps.
- Contain the washer solvent in a suitable container.
- Disconnect the 2 front engine wiring harness connections from the wiring harness.
- Remove the bolts from the fender flange and inner wheelhouse.
- Lower the washer container into the engine compartment.
- Carefully pull the forward engine harness over the top of the washer container spout.
- Remove the washer solvent container (2) from the engine compartment.
- Transfer the following components:
- Cap
- Front washer pump
- Rear washer pump, if equipped
