Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Pontiac Montana SV6, 2006 Chevrolet Uplander, and 2006 Buick Terraza. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Install the PCM electrical connectors (4).
  2. Install the PCM (2) into the air cleaner assembly (3).
  3. Install the air cleaner assembly cover (1).
    4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the air cleaner assembly cover screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

  5. Install the left sheet metal diagonal brace. Refer to Brace Replacement - Sheet Metal Diagonal (Chevrolet) , Brace Replacement - Sheet Metal Diagonal (Pontiac) or Brace Replacement - Sheet Metal Diagonal (Buick) in Body Front End.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE in Engine Electrical.
  7. If a new PCM is being installed, program the EEPROM. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems.
