HVAC Module Assembly Replacement

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
Fastener Tightening Specifications:  Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (L26) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LY7) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LS4) .
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  3. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (L26, LY7 GE 47716 Fill) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (L26 Static Fill) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LY7 Static Fill) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LS4 GE47716 Fill) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LS4 Static Fill) .
  4. Remove the inlet heater hose from the heater core. Refer to Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LY7)  or Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (L26)  or Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LS4) .
  5. Remove the outlet heater hose from the heater core. Refer to Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LY7)  or Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (L26)  or Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LS4) .
  6. Remove the air conditioning evaporator thermal expansion valve tube from the thermal expansion valve. Refer to Air Conditioning Evaporator Thermal Expansion Valve Tube Replacement .
  7. Remove the evaporator drain tube from the evaporator case.
  8. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement .
1 Nut, Heater and Air Conditioning Module

Tighten:  10 N.m (89 lb in)
