Entire IPC Appears Inoperative
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect IPC connector. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between IPC connector terminal B3 and ground. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check CSTR/SBM (10-amp) fuse of instrument panel electrical center. Replace fuse as required. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
- Using a DVOM, measure voltage between IPC connector terminals B3 and A12. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check Black wire from Driver Information Center (DIC) terminal "H" for an open. Repair as necessary.
- Turn ignition on. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between IPC connector terminals A11 and A12. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check HVAC (10-amp) fuse of instrument panel electrical center. If fuse is blown, replace fuse. If fuse is okay, check Brown wire between instrument panel electrical center and terminal A11 of IPC connector. Repair as necessary.
- Using a DVOM, measure voltage between IPC connector terminals B2 and A12. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check PCM/CRU (10-amp) fuse of rear electrical center. Replace fuse if open. If fuse is okay, check Pink wire between rear electrical center connector C3 terminal B7 (PCM/CRU fuse terminal) and terminal B2 of IPC connector for an open and repair as necessary.
- Using a DVOM, measure voltage between IPC connector terminals A7 and A12. See Figure . If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check SMB/LCM (10-amp) fuse of underhood electrical center. Replace fuse if open. If fuse is okay, check Pink wire between underhood electrical center connector C3 terminal C2 (SMB/LCM fuse terminal) and terminal A7 of IPC connector for an open and repair as necessary.
- Replace IPC. Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS.
