Diagnostic Procedures
- Check for binding, sticking or broken fuel switch. If fuel switch is okay, use scan tool to clear DTC. Turn ignition off. Disconnect fuel switch. Turn ignition on. Wait 60 seconds. Check for DTCs. If DTC B1522 is present, go to next step. If DTC B1522 is not present, go to step 3).
- Check Black wire between Driver Information Center (DIC) terminal "D" and IPC connector terminal A10 for short to ground. If short exists, locate and repair as necessary. If Black wire is okay, go to next step.
- Using a DVOM, measure resistance between connector terminals "D" and "H" of DIC connector. See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, check for an intermittent problem by performing a "wiggle test" for any poor connections. Repair as necessary.
- Replace fuel switch. Perform INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
